One of Chase PR’s newest client wins is Kathmandu. Known for their strong kiwi values and industry-leading efforts towards sustainability, Kathmandu have developed gear and apparel for adventure travellers for the past 30 years.

In a society that is becoming more conscious about our carbon footprint and the legacy we leave behind. Kathmandu is leading the way in corporate responsibility. By the end of 2018 Kathmandu had reached 80% of their zero waste to landfill target.

The brand was acknowledged by the Textile Exchange, ranking Kathmandu second globally in the outdoor and sports category in the preferred fibres and materials 2018 report. Highlighted below are just a few reasons why Kathmandu were awarded the Banksia ‘Large Business Sustainability Leadership’ award in 2017.

Kathmandu’s ‘Earthcolours’ range is its most sustainable range to date. With dye made from inedible parts of nuts, fruits and seeds, this dye is fully traceable, natural and organic acting as a non-petroleum dye alternative.

‘Repreve’ is Kathmandu’s solution to the number of plastic bottles being wasted each year in addition to the increasing demand for polyester. ‘Repreve’is recycled polyester made from plastic bottles and is not only used in the ‘Earthcolours’ range but also in 71 products in the Kathmandu range.
